Kismet is a wireless network detector / sniffer which can give you a huge amount of information over wireless networks. Wireless network security vulnerabilities are well documented, but often very difficult to understand for the common person. I'll show you how to install itself with Kismet under Linux, or used to compile Kismet.

Once you are on KismetAsk later, instead of following a standard location for the kismet log files for analysis, simply click on the desktop or a temporary file.

Kismet will also give you the sound notification when new wireless networks are detected, or security or suspicious customers are within easy reach.
